Coloring Basic Winter Look

I love to sprinkle colors on basic or neutral colors in some form or the other. It can totally change your style game making it more striking. For a long time, winters have been associated with dark and deep colors but not anymore. Colors are equally welcomed in winters as they are summers. And this has been my style mantra for last few years that I make it a point to vibrant colors to my winter wardrobe. Because dark colors can make your style predictable and monotonous after a while, so adding a punch to colors will do no harm!

Now that winters are here in full swing I have started with some light shrugs and jackets. I don’t feel very cold easily until its the end of December and I know many of you will be in same shoes. Heavy layering will come later for me but for now, it is only some light layering.

I have a fascination with long coats they make you look so edgy and street ready. So I had this longline black shrug (black is a must) which I wanted to play around with. I am short in height so at times wearing long coats put me in doubt but then I have realized no matter what you wear if you carry with confidence then you are ready to rock! I paired my black shrug with blue jogger pants (very basic indeed). But the fun part came when I decided to add colors to this basic style. I chose a pink colorful floral print top with flared sleeves for layering underneath my shrug and it instantly changed the whole look adding a bright contrast. Further, my golden flat mules, green color transparent aviators, gold and black ear studs did the trick.

A basic look which was brightened up with few colors here and there!

Style tip- Wearing clashing colors in winters can really create an interesting style like pink with yellow or red with pink.

So, do you like to add colors to your basic winter style or prefer to keep it safe with conventional colors? Let me know in the comments below.
