A touch of ’70s

’70s was the decade when fashion was really effortless. The styles were more personality driven rather than adorning a certain trend. People defined fashion for themselves and it was so individualistic.

Broad pants, high waist denims or trousers, turtle necks, bell bottoms, chunky heels, polka prints, huge sunglasses, hippie styles, wide collared shirts, broad legged jumpsuits and many more. And how can we forget the hairstyles! Feathered layers, blunt bangs, sleek centre parted hair.vintage-slacks-1

These are definitely some styles that everyone can remember while thinking of ’70s fashion. In India, my personal favorites of ’70s are Tina Ambani (Baaton Baaton mein) and Dimple Kapadia (Bobby). ’70s are coming back, they always do!

Ok, finally about my look, I recently attended Asian Designer week fall winter 2016.To give a brief intro, Asian Designer week is a platform for new and aspiring designers from Asia. It encourages new talent and mixing of cultures from Asian countries (For more details check: www.asiandesignerweek.com)

I added a touch of ’70s to my look with broad pants, turtle neck jumper with shoulder frills and sleek centre parted hairdo (my all time favorite). A gold beaded choker, brown leather handbag and brown pumps completed my look. Sunglasses were essential, it was so sunny!

Style tip: Add some ’70s touch to your style with flared high waist denims, they are coming back!

I hope you like my look! Do comment.
